 FEATURES

In addition this set includes the following (and more):

The first floor includes yellow and light-blue tiled floor, sink, oven and stove, drawers, cups, pot, pan, bowl, mixer, plates, cake tins, cutlery, dining table and 4 chairs. Moving onto the living room, it features a TV playing Itchy and Scratchy, the infamous couch, boat painting, telephone, carpet, purple piano and staircase to the second floor with family photos.

In addition, Bart’s Radioactive Man comic book accessory, which I believe may be the first-ever “LEGO comic book, is included as well. The Simpsons comic book publisher, Bongo, is probably bursting with pride over this.

In Marge and Homer’s bedroom it features a bed, 2 side tables, Maggie’s crib and Marge’s bag.

Then in Lisa’s room it features a vanity mirror with hairbrush, stool, bed, a table with lamp and cup, shelves with books, magnifying glass, backpack and a jazz poster on the wall.

The bathroom features a shower, toilet, sink and a mirror.  The detachable garage features the family car, tools, workbench, tool rack, vacuum cleaner, toolbox and a broom (can you spot all the items Homer has “borrowed” from Ned Flanders?) It also includes the family car with space for 4 mini-figures and features a dent in the front and an opening trunk to store Homer’s suitcase and a ‘radioactive’ bar from the nuclear power plant. The outside area includes a grill, wheelbarrow and air conditioning unit with ‘Property of Ned Flanders’ decoration, sausages, 2 garden loungers, flowerpots, a shovel, 2 fruit cocktail glasses, Lisa’s camera, Bart’s skateboard ramp with ‘El Barto’ graffiti and an antenna on the roof.

 DOWNSIDE:

The only downsides that I could find are first the retail cost. It lists for about $200, which is a little rich even for the most avid LEGO and Simpsons fans. But considering all the parts and detail that come with this set, to many, it will be worth it.

The second thing is that there’s a bit of assembly required. It’s not a “take out of the box and play” toy. It will require reading some directions and assembling parts. Lastly, it comes with 6 mini-figures but then in May, you’ll be able to buy all the additional 16 mini-figures at a list price of $3.99 each. So to get all of the available mini-figures you’ll end up spending around an additional $60.

 CONCLUSION

LEGO has released this new toy just in time to introduce a new generation of youths to the longest-running animated series on television. Lego announced its official partnership with Twentieth Century Fox to create and sell this collection of Simpsons Legos. This new LEGO release I’m sure will be enjoyed by not only children but older children (teens) and adults as well! The entire collection appears to offer everything from a miniature Bart Simpson and skateboard ramp, to the family sedan, to the iconic Springfield home that many of us have grown to love.

The mini-figures of 16 different characters will be available in May for $3.99 per character, just in time for a special Lego episode of The Simpsons which also airs in May.

Taken right out of Springfield, this amazing model is crammed with tons of LEGO® brick detail. This is an exciting new addition to the LEGO collection of brick building toys. Enjoy!
