Let’s find out.

Overview of the Angry Birds Air Swimmersbad piggy

The Angry Birds Air Swimmers Turbo is a Flying Remote Control Balloon Toy. Hasbro® claims that with the remote control, you can fly this balloon toy for a distance of up to 40 feet. The Air Swimmers are made of a very durable material and comes with one Super Bird Remote Controlled Helium balloon, one King Pig standard helium balloon, and one 360-degree navigational control tracker pad that also controls how high or low the balloon flies. Assembly time is about 5 minutes or less!

Technology

The Angry Birds Air Swimmer Turbo utilizes advanced, patented, Air Swimmers technology, that brings the magic of Angry Birds to life! The remote control allows the Angry Birds Balloon to glide through the air and fly over an hour for long-lasting indoor fun. The convenient Auto Swim mode makes it easy for anyone to fly. Angry Birds Balloon Remote Control (Angry Birds Air Swimmers Turbo) needs 4 AA batteries and helium to fly. Simply fill the balloon with helium at any store that sells balloons or buy a small helium tank and fill it at home. The body is made from a high quality, durable material that will stay inflated for weeks and can be refilled again and again.

PROS

The Angry Birds Air Swimmer Turbo takes on a few minutes to set up and begin flying. The convenient remote control provides the ability to maneuver the balloon throughout the room at varying speeds. It’s very easy to operate and you can point the balloon to go up, down, left, right, 360 degrees, and so on. There’s also a feature “auto swim” which will randomly fly the balloon in varying directions and speeds. Even when on auto swim you can adjust the speed manually. The Angry Birds Air Swimmer Turbo comes in three colors, Red, Black , and Blue. Lastly, a link to an instructional video and easy access to customer service is also provided!

CONS

While the Angry Birds Air Swimmer Turbo has many features, the downside of this toy is the that you need 4 AA batteries for the remote control. Also, you need to either buy a small tank of helium or go to your local store that sells balloons and have the Angry Birds Air Swimmer balloon filled for you. Also, using the remote control in manual mode takes some practice before you can maneuver the balloon comfortably and accurately.

CONCLUSION

Overall, the Angry Birds Air Swimmer Turbo is a great toy for any child 8 years old or older. It is easy to set up, after a learning curve easy to use, and very economical as well. The list price is $49.99 but available through Amazon for a ridiculous $9.49, definitely a bargain and for the Amazon price, a toy that will bring hours and hours of fun for your child!

My son is only 5 but loves Angry Birds. I’m sure he’d love to have a go with one of these, with his Dad’s supervision!

At four years, my kids would love this! The helium component is a bit of a hassle. Is it bad to inhale helium? Just wondering…

      Sarah,
Thank you for the post. Helium is not harmful if you accidently breathe some of it in. As a matter of fact if you do inhale it, it will cause the sound of your voice to heighten so that your voice will sound like one of the munchkins from the Wizard of Oz. Quite funny actually. Thanks for the post. Have a great weekend!

I’m so out of the loop on kids’ toys since mine are older and only play video and computer games these days. That balloon toy sounds very cool though!
